Only in the fall of 2009 I was diagnosed with CFS / ME at the Berlin Charité and diagnosed just like most other CFS / ME patients I have on an odyssey . doctor visits and hospital stays behind me

is my exact diagnosis: "Post-Viral EBV-associated Chronic Fatigue Syndrome / ME". "Post viral" because since the beginning of my symptoms in 1998 and again until today, found significantly increased antibodies against Epstein-Barr virus. were. Also the acute titer (IgM) is always increased, indicating a chronic reactivation of the virus. It is believed that the Epstein-Barr virus plays a role in the development of CFS / ME. It was also with me also found an immune defect that about 10% of all have to CFS / ME sufferers also: An IgG3 deficiency. A deficiency of immunoglobulins results in the body can not properly fight infections.

My symptoms:

  • beyond measure physical and mental exhaustion and very quick exhaustion
  • worsening of symptoms with physical and mental activity
  • flu symptoms (joint pain, high temperature, sore throat)
  • swollen and tender neck lymph nodes
  • Neurological symptoms (dizziness, tingling, numbness and weakness in arms and legs, incoordination, visual impairment, hearing impairment)
  • Herz-/Kreislaufprobleme ( tachycardia with minimal physical exertion , pain in the chest and neck during exercise, fainting at changing the body position)

  • Magen-/Darmprobleme (pain, cramps, nausea)
  • intolerances and allergies, especially to foods and chemicals, including drugs
  • enlarged spleen
  • blood and protein in urine
  • Phased increased pancreatic levels (amylase, lipase)

on the scale according to Bell (valid classification of severity, see description under "WHAT IS CFS / ME") lie I 20 -. 30 points

The symptoms accompany me around the clock, every day. Here, the severe fatigue in varying degrees is always present. The other symptoms are also in bad times continuously available, in better times they alternate in their intensity.

I am sick since 1998 and since 2001 no longer able to work.
